2024 Repkong(Tongren) Shaman Festival in eastern Tibet – Kham & Amdo

Date of Repkong Shaman Festival in tongren: July 28th. – August 6th., 2018

Route 1:

Lanzhou – Tongren County – Maqu County – Langmusi Town- Zhagana – Hezuo – Lanzhou

Summary:

There is a Shaman Festival in Longwu, Repkong(Tongren) County. “Shaman Festival” based on colorful folk dance, which is an important carrier of sacrificing and entertaining God. Through an ancient dance to entertain God, Tibetan Nationality and Tu nationality pray that gods bless the land has an abundant harvest of all crops, the domestic animals are all thriving and good weather for the crops. It is also the ultimate purpose of this ritual ceremony.

Highlights:

1. Tibetan folk customs of Tongren County and surroundings.
2. Sunrise of Sgomar monastery(Guomari monastery), Shaman Festival of Suherui village and Huojiaer Village.
3. Sunset of the first bend of the Yellow River and Stone City of Zhagana

Itinerary

Day 1: Lanzhou

Lanzhou arrival, transfer to hotel.
Overnight: Lanzhou

Day 2: Lanzhou – (350km) – Tongren County

Activities: Get up early to have breakfast, drive through Danxia landform of Kushui Town, Liujiaxia Reservoir and other places and then arrive at Tongren County.

Day 3: Tongren County

Activities: Shoot the Tibetan folk customs in Tongren County and their surroundings all day.

Day 4: Tongren County

Activities: Shoot June Festival in Tongren County and their surroundings all day.

Activities: shoot the wonderful folk customs of Tongren County and their surroundings.

Day 6: Tongren County – (350km) – Maqu County

Activities: Get up early to have breakfast and then drive to Maqu County.

Day 7: Maqu County – (200km) – Zhagana

Activities: Get up early to drive to Zhagana.

Day 8: Zhagana – (280km) – Hezuo

Activities: Get up early to continue to shoot in the Zhagana, and in the afternoon drive to Hezuo.

Day 9: Hezuo – (250km) – Lanzhou

Activities: Get up early to shoot and then drive back to Lanzhou with the end of the happy photography tour.
