Panda Keeper Volunteer Program in Bifengxia Panda Base

Highlights:

-Spend the day with pandas as a Panda Keeper!
-Feed the Giant Panda twice a day!
-Learn more about China’s pandas up close and personal. Spend half a day getting to know the Middle Kingdom’s most cuddly denizen at the Bifengxia Panda Base while working together in the panda enclosures with the panda keepers as a volunteer.

About this program:

Spend the day working with China’s favorite roly poly bamboo-eating pandas! You’ll get to work with the experts at the Bifengxia Panda Base to go into the panda enclosures, make food and feed the bears. In the afternoon you’ll observe and make notes about the panda’s behavior and you’ll receive a certificate acknowledging you as a panda volunteer.

Itinerary:

6:30 a.m. Chengdu hotel pick up
8:30 a.m. Arrive at Bifengxia Panda Base
Arrive at Bifengxia Panda Base in Ya’an. Register as a Bifengxia Panda Base volunteer. Your experience will consist of working closely with the pandas and panda keepers in their enclosures. In the morning, your main jobs will be to clean the panda enclosures, make food and feed the pandas.
12:00 p.m. Lunch
2:00 p.m. More panda volunteer activities
Feed the pandas again and make notes about their afternoon activities. Learn about the animal from the experts and get a certificate acknowledging your work as a panda volunteer.
4:00 p.m. Depart for Chengdu
6:00 p.m. Return to hotel
