Why Mt. Siguniang Dafeng Peak

if you are looking for your first 5,000-meter peak in China, Mt. Siguniang Dafeng peak will be your good choise. Mt Siguniang DaFeng (四姑娘山大峰 or 大姑娘山; literally: “peak of the oldest sister”, 5038 m). It is a suitable for those who have trekked or climbed peaks below 5000m and want to attempt a 1st 5000ers peak. While DaFeng is rated as relatively easier to trek then the ErFeng and SanFeng, the climb can be strenuous due to the altitude. In winter, the climb can become tougher due to the colder weather. In extreme cold winter situation, which is not so common these days, the snow conditions may warrant the use of crampons and, at times, double boots for the summit climb.

Introduce of Mt. Siguniang

Mt. Siguniang is rise between Haizi Gou and Changping Gou. Mt Siguniang encompasses four peaks: DaFeng (Big Peak or 1st peak / 5038m), ErFeng (2nd peak / 5276m), SanFeng (3rd peak, 5355m), and Yaomei Feng (4th peak, 6250m). Aside from Yaomei Feng, the other three lower peaks are regular mountaineering destinations through all seasons.

Mt. Siguniang(also named Four Girls Mountain) Located in the Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, the Four Girls Mountain consists of four adjacent peaks, covered with eternal snow. Its name stems from a local legend that the place was once slammed by chilling northern winds and in order to protect the local residents, four beautiful girls turned into four peaks to shield the place from the blows.

Just like four girls, the charming peaks are white as ice and pearly colored as jade, spanning an area of over 2,000 square kilometers (200,000 hectares) and earning it the nickname of the “Eastern Alps.” The 6,250-meter-high fourth peak is the highest as well as the most captivating one. The heights of the first, second, and third peaks are 5,355 meters, 5,454 meters, and 5,664 meters respectively.

As a nation-level nature reserve, the mountain is home to many species, including golden monkeys and black bears. It flaunts a group of scenic areas where people can go to enjoy some sightseeing, mountain climbing and other recreational outings.

Day 1: Chengdu (540m) – Rilong Town (3200m)
Day 2: Rilong Town (3200m) – Dafeng Base Camp (4280m)
Day 3: Dafeng Base Camp (4280m) – Mountain Pass（4900 m) – Summit (5025m) – Dafeng Base Camp (4280m) – Rilong (3200m)
Day 4: Rilong Town (3200m) – Chengdu (540m)

Itinerary：
Day 1 Chengdu – Wolong Panda Base – Rilong L/D

Visit : Wolong Panda Base
Free time after we arrive Rilong, and adapt to altitude
Overnight : Four Girls Mountain Holly Image Hotel

Day 2:Four girls Mountain Town – Dajianbao – Jibengzi – BC Base camp B/L/D

Hiking for 5 to 7 hours, 16km
Overnight: Camp in Dafeng Base
07:00 am Get Up
08:00 am Breakfast
08:30 am Loaded lightly and led by the team guide, set off into Haizigou, after 6-7 hours arrive at Dafeng Base Camp. The heavy equipment will be carried by horses.
16:00 pm Arrive at the Dafeng Base Camp, Wear more warm clothes and take a rest in the center tent.
17:30 pm Capming dinner
19:00 pm Sleep
Notes: Drinking hot water and walking slowly will be helpful to adopt to altitude. If there is physical discomfort, please tell to the team leader in time.
Breakfast: Hotel Breakfast
Lunch: Rice, Chocolate, Fruits on road
Dinner: cooked chicken, vegetable, rice

Day 3: Dafeng Base Camp – Summit – Dafeng Base Camp – Four Girls Town B/L/D

04:30 am Get Up, and be ready in equipment
04:30 am Start to head for the summit after breakfast. After gentle slopes, platforms, Mountain Pass, and summits. You can walk at your own pace. After taking pictures at the summit, then go back to the base camp to collect equipment and returned to Four Girls Town.
16:30 pm Arrive at Four Girls Town and take a warm shower.
Breakfast: Camping breakfast Noodles
Lunch: Rice, Chocolate, Fruits on road
Dinner: restaurant in Four Girls Town, yark hot pot

Day 4: Four Girls Mountain Town – Chengdu B

Arrive at Chengdu around 12:30 – 14:00.
Stay in Chengdu hotel which booked by yourself
Breakfast: Hotel Breakfast
