Changchun, the provincial capital ofJilin Province, is the biggest automotive capital of China. Located in the northeast China, Changchun, the 15th vice-provincial city of China, is bordering Songyuan City in the northwest, Siping City in the southeast, Jilin City in the southeast and Heilongjiang Province in the northeast. Covering an area of 20604 sq. km, this ninth biggest city of China is divided into 6 districts and 1 county and in charge of 3 county-level cities. As the earliest auto industry base and film-making base of China, Changchun boasts FAW Group Corporation and Changchun Film Studio. It is not only a window of north China, but also a hub of politics, economy, culture, finance, trade and transportation of northeast China.
Northeast Errenzhuan is a form of duet, also known as Bengbeng. It originated in Northeast China’s Liaoning, Jilin and Heilongiiang provinces. It is a form of Quyi that involves storytelling, singing and dancing, between two performers. Bengbeng has a history of 200 years and its script is written in popular language that is easy to understand, humorous, and rich in local life style and flavor. The vocal music is based on that of the northeastern folk songs. The singing is high-spirited and of an explosive type, sincere and moving. The dancing is derived from farmers’ dances done to celebrate sowing and planting. It also features the folk dance technique of waving fans or silk handkerchiefs.
Changchun, known as ‘Spring City of Northland’, is of monsoon climate, locating in the transitional belt from wet area to sub-dry area. There are brightly coloured three wheel plastic taxis, available only near Changchun University, which only operate for short distances in the south of the city. If you are in the Jingyuetan part of town, this is the easiest mode of transport as there are few taxis Operating is there fairly easy to find a taxi anywhere in Jingyuetan. They are cheaper and slower than regular taxis. There is no meter, so expect to negotiate with the driver. A typical ride should not exceed ¥3.

There is an audio tour rental fee of ¥20 although the recordings do not add much to what is already provided by the signage (¥100 deposit for equipment). The grounds are nicely Restored since nearly all buildings were damaged during the Cultural Revolution. Scenes from the acclaimed 1987 film The Last Emperor were filmed here.

Around 1936, the puppet Manchukuo government built its capital with several important government departments in Changchun, Xinming Street Area. Now 8 of several and are used for other purpose. Visitors usually cannot get inside, but it is still good to have a look at The old buildings from outside and think of their history.

Jingyuetan is a crescent shaped reservoir. Comparable to Son Moon Lake in Taiwan in stature, it is hailed as its sister lake. According to a legend, a fairy from the heaven fell in love with a human by chance. The fairy’s mother brought her back By force. The grieving fairy left two two drops of her tears which formed lakes, one being the Son Moon Lake and the other Jingyuetan. On records Jingyuetan was built in 1934 to supply water for Changchun city. It was so named by Zheng Yu, the Second son of Zheng Xiaoxu, once the prime minister of the Manchukuo (State of Manchuria).

Located in Shanhe Town, Shuangyang District, at 91 kilometers (56.54 miles) from Changchun, the Diaoshuihu Scenic Area features mountains, waters, forests, peaks, caves and stones. The area was named after the Diaoshuihu Waterfall, which is 10 meters (32.8 Feet) wide, with a drop of 7 meters (22.97 feet).
What is even more impressive about the area is a karst cave, measuring 386 meters (1266.4 feet) in length and 73 meters (239.5 feet) in height, which was formed 300 million years ago. Composed of two main halls, the cave is the Largest karst attraction with the highest altitude in northeast China. It is a good place to visit in summer.
Arrival method: In the Middle East (or Huanghe Road Hutong), take the Changchun-Shuangyang bus, and make a trip in about 10 minutes. Sit down to the terminal Shuangyang South Railway Station. There is a small building next to the bus and on the 1st floor is the ticket for the South Railway Station.
There is a car that goes directly to the kettle. It takes about 1 hour from the Middle East to Shuangyang, and it takes more than 1 hour for Shuangyang to reach the bottle.

Changchun Movie Wonderland, also known as Changchun Film Century City, is a film theme park developed by Changchun Film Studio. It is located at the junction of Jingyue Road and Yongshun Road at the Jingyue Economic Development Zone. It is currently the only park in China. Themed on world-class special effects films. The park was officially opened on May 29, 2005 and has received more than 8 million visitors to date.
It is divided into four parts, the Innovation and Technologies Area, the Thrills and Spills Area, the Performance Area and the Recreational Area. Visitors can Enjoy watching 4D movies with special effects, 3D water screen films, and laser suspension films, apart from live stunt performances and comedy shows.

A large, beautiful sculpture park surrounding a serene lake. The park features sculptures from artists around the world. At the center is a large pillar, the ‘Friendship Peace Spring’. The Songhuajiang River is abundant in White Fish, called Bai Yu in Chinese. The meat of the White Fish is quite tender. So, many restaurants in Changchun provide the steamed White Fish. There are two ways of steaming: One is ‘dry steaming’ without soup; and the other is ‘steaming with some soup’. The soup is full of the flavor of fish, which tastes very mild and delicious.
Hot Pot
Hot Pot originated from Sichuan Province, while Changchun people are also good at cooking it. The locals use pork, beef, lamb, seafood, vegetables, Frozen Beancurd and vermicelli as the main ingredients of the hot pot. When they eat the hot pot, they use sesame catsup and mustard and the like as seasonings.
Not many true budget options exist, and a number of hotels will not accept foreigners, for example Home Inn next to the Train Station. Good areas with lots of hotels are south of the train station (along Renmin Street) and the north part of Hongqi Street.
Ginseng – as the region around Changchun is a top producer of ginseng, it is available at most pharmacies in the city. Other products that may be of interest include wood ear fungus and lingzhi mushroom.
Kites – attractive and cheap kites are sold by vendors around Culture Square.
