Yuncheng is seat in the south of Shanxi province, which is skirted on three sides by Lvliang Mountains and Taihang Mountains, with one side opening onto Yellow River, having the total area about 24,000 square kilometers. Yuncheng is the most famous place and local people believe that it was called China earliest in story.

Yongji Wulao Peak

Sheng Tian Hu

Guanque Tower

The tower stands on the east bank of the Yellow River in the ancient town of Puzhou of Yongji Temple. It was first established in the period between 557 and 580. Xiezhou Guan Di Temple

There are countless Guan Di temples in China and overseas, but the Guan Di Temple in Shanxi’s Xiezhou County is undoubtedly the finest and most famous. Pujiu Temple

After many years of war, the temple’s original Tang Dynasty buildings were no longer there, and the existing temples were built in the 1980s according to the Tang Dynasty style. On the central axis are Tianwang Hall, Bell Tower, Drum Tower, and Daxiongbao Temple. The giant statue of Buddha in the main hall is the remnant of the Northern Dynasty discovered during the reconstruction of the foundation in 1985.

Yongle Palace

Yongle Palace (“Palace of Eternal Joy”) is renowned for its many Yuan Dynasty murals, which are considered to be some of the finest artistic treasures in China. It is the largest of all Taoist temples remaining from the Yuan Dynasty. This important Taoist Temple complex was not always located where it is now; it was moved brick-by-brick, painting-by-painting from 1959 – 1964 to allow for the construction of the Sanmen Gorge Reservoir on the Yellow River. Fortunately, the priceless murals for Which the palace is best known were well preserved in the move. The original monastery was built between 1247 and 1262 to commemorate Lu Dongbin, one of the eight Taoist imortals, who was born in the town of Yongle in 789. The full complex took 111 Years to build and was complted in 1358. The palace divided of several buildings constructed along a line running from south to north. In each of the main halls, the walls are covered by vivid paintings which are considered the most outstanding example s of Taoist painting in China.

Guangren Temple

Zhonglongquan Village, north of Yongle Palace, is home to one of the four existing wooden buildings of the Tang Dynasty. Because the Wulong spring water emerges from the temple, it is commonly known as the “Five Dragon Temple”. The inscription records the Tang Dynasty government officials who built temples, opened up channels, and used springs to irrigate farmland.

Ma Cun Duan Family Brick Tomb

The Duan’s Tombs in the Song and Jin Dynasties of Ma Village was a well-preserved family cemetery. According to archaeological findings, there are 15 burial sites in Duan family, of which 9 are excavated and 5 are open to display.
