Example itinerary of Orphanage(welfare institution) visit in Heilongjiang

Day 1 Arrival in Heilongjiang Province

Pick up from airport and private transfer to hotel.

Have a good rest today.

Day 2: Orphanage visit

a typical process of orphanage visit: Your family will be welcome by firecracker ceremony with hanging red banner(Written sentence meaning welcome for home return visit), then you will have a conversation with orphanage director and staff, after that it’s a limited visit of facilities the SWI and view the file of your child(if possible). Having lunch with orphanage director and staff, in the afternoon you will visit the “finding spot” of your child or doing the city sightseeing.

Please note that process of each orphanage is different, actually there is no standard process.

So activities of a typical orphanage visit could be:

  • Visit facilities and surroundings of the Orphanage(SWI)
  • View profile of your Child
  • Meet the Nurse/Nanny of your child
  • Meet the foster mother or family
  • Conversation or with orphanage director and staff
  • Meal with orphanage director and staff
  • Visit the “finding spot”
  • Gifts to orphanage directors, caregivers, foster families and children
  • Donate to the orphanage

More and more chinese orphanages are now open to adoptive families for return visiting, but each province is different and has different regulations, No single person can 100% guarantee the permission to visit an orphanage. so please check with your Travel Advisor beforehand to see what you should expect when visiting your child’s orphanage.

We work closely with Social Welfare Institutes throughout China and Chinese Government department like Provincial Civil Affairs Bureau (CAB) and CCAB to arrange your orphanage visit. Day 3 sightseeing visit

China Snow Town: the No.1 China Snow Town located in Shuangfeng Wood Farm in Mudanjiang. On route, you’ll enjoy the beautiful snow scene in the winter wonderland – bright sunshine, clear sky, fresh air, endless snow-capped land, primitive wooden houses…

Snow Town Photography Ground:  where you can play with snow, bringing you a happy childhood memory. Later, walk around the snow town at your own pace, you can enjoy amazing snow scape and experience the lifestyle of snow town people.

Day 4 sightseeing visit

Sun Island : which is a major venue of Ice and Snow Festival located north Harbin right by the Songhua River. It is a popular recreational zone with a Russian-style town, some small lakes, several exquisite gardens as well as various interesting galleries and museums.

Siberian Tiger Park: the largest breeding center in the world for endangered Siberian Tigers. You’ll not only pay a safe walk to observe different kinds of tigers (Siberian Tigers, White Tigers, Snow Tiger, Liger, Jaguar), but also take a bus with wire-mesh protection through the park to closely see the tigers and take some photos.

Ice and Snow World:  the highlights of Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival, to appreciate the magical and extraordinary ice lanterns and sculptures with colorful lights at night. Please wear enough layers of proper clothes and warm shoes to keep you away from the freeze especially when you want to stay here longer to enjoy the beautiful scenery.
