Travel information
Changji Prefecture is located in the north of Xinjiang and has a large temperature difference between day and night. The weather is extremely dry. Add clothing and replenish moisture in time. In the local summer, the sunlight is very strong and it is best to avoid long-term outdoor activities at noon.
When traveling in the deserts and in no man’s land, do not act alone. When staying near the scenic spot, you can occasionally hear the wolf howling at night, and don’t go out for activities late at night with curiosity.

Destination sketch
Changji is a county-level city situated about 40 km (25 mi) west of the regional capital, Ürümqi in northern Xinjiang, China, and has about 390,000 inhabitants. It is the seat of Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture. At the northeast corner of the modern city are the walls and other archaeological remains of the Tang dynasty city, usually referred to as Ancient Changji.
A Federation of Industry and Commerce is at Changji. In the area around Changji crop growing, animal husbandry and oil crop growing are important parts of the economy. Changji is the home of Changji University.
Local life
The Hui people are distributed throughout Xinjiang and they mainly live in the Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture with a population of about 700,000.
Beliefs and taboos
In the diet, Muslims fasted the meat of pigs, dogs, donkeys, quail meats, and beasts of prey and raptors. They did not eat the meat of dead animals that had not been slaughtered. They also fasted the blood of all animals.

One of the three major religious festivals in Islam, this day of worship is the grandest of the year. All Muslim adult men go to local mosques for worship. After that, the local residents will pray at the cemetery to mourn the loss of their loved ones.

The bus system in Changji City extends in all directions. Roads 1 to 7 cover most of the area. By 8 roads, you can reach Wujiaqu City, 14 to Daxi Canal Station, and 20 to Yushugou Yongjin (near Changji Train Station).

Attractions
Multicolored Bay (or Five Colored Bend)
It is located in the north of Jimusar County, Changji Autonomous District, in the Gurbantunggut Desert. Covering an area of 3 sq kilometers (1.2 square miles), it has a typical wind erosion physiognomy and is believed to be the most beautiful one of its kind in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
Various colors in the bay account for its name. It is multicolored because of the burning of coal. Once a thick coal seam was formed under this area, and millions of years later, the coal seam was exposed and then burned by lightening and sunlight. Sintered rocks having different mineral substances piled up and this hilly area became multicolored with reddish brown as its main hue. Hills and rocks of Multicolored Bay have various shapes. Using imagination, you will find some look like pythons, while others resemble lions, ladies and pagodas. One of the hills is like a beauty wearing colorful clothes, while the hill snuggling up to it looks like a girl.
Ancient Ocean Hot Spring Scenic Area
The Ancient Ocean hot spring water temperature is about 75 °C, the water is rich in trace elements, after the tour near the five colors Bay, you can come to relax here.

General Gobi

Qitai Silicified Wood – Dinosaur National Geopark ( Qitai Ghost City)
Qitai Silicified Wood – Dinosaur National Geopark is located on the Gobi Desert, 155 kilometers north of Qitai County, with a total area of approximately 492 square kilometers. The area of Silicified Wood Park is 11.65 square kilometers, and 5 kilometers to the east is the famous dinosaur valley. In the 30-kilometer area, Shiqiantan fossil remains are revealed in the Carboniferous Ocean in Junggar region, and the northwestern part of the city is the ghost city, Nomin Wind City, famous for its Yadan landform. At present, there are tourist centers, dinosaur museums and other facilities in the park.

Jiang Brak
“Jiang Brak” means the source of holy water in the Kazakh language. June and July of each year are the most beautiful seasons of Jiang Brak. Jiang Brak also has an amazing “strange slope”. Mulei Singing sand Mountain and Primitive Populus euphratica
Singing sand, also called whistling sand or barking sand, is sand that produces sound. The sound emission may be caused by wind passing over dunes or by walking on the sand.
After more than 20 kilometers north of Singing Sand Mountain, it reached the original Populus euphratica forest. Populus euphratica is an ancient tree species left in the third century. It survived on the earth more than 60 million years ago and is called the living fossil of trees.

Shimenzi Rock Painting
It is said that these rock paintings were left by cultivators more than 3,000 years ago, and some people have also verified that they were left by Otsuki. The rock paintings carved out of the Shimenzi rock paintings of the Kangjia can be divided into 7 groups.
