Arrival method:
After arriving at the airport, you can take an airport bus or take a taxi from the airport to Xiaguan and Dali. A taxi from the airport to downtown area of Xiaguan is 50 yuan, and to the ancient city of Dali is 90 yuan.
The airport bus departs with the flight time and it takes about 20 minutes. It costs 15 yuan for the Xiaguan town and 25 yuan for the Dali Ancient Town.

In Dali City, there are bus routes extending in all directions, and you can reach various attractions in the city by bus. The price for a single ride is 1 yuan to 2 yuan.

Taxis

The taxi starting price in Xiaguan Town is 8 yuan within 3 km and then 1.6 yuan per kilometer.

Chartered Bus

In many parts of Dali, it is possible to make an appointment to charter a trip. You can charter around the sea or anywhere else. The cost varies from 300 to 600 yuan per day. If there are more fellow travelers, this is a more cost-effective way to travel.

 Double-decker circle lake bus

In 2015, the double-decker bus service begin, which has two directions bus, clockwise and counterclockwise directions. It can be traversed within 24 hours or 48 hours, including the main attractions of the erhai lake, with a 24-hour ticket price is 158 yuan and a 48-hour ticket price is 280 yuan. The price of 280 yuan is more cost-effective for individual travelers, but more expensive than a multi-person chartered vehicle. Tickets can be booked online.

Yudai Yunyou Road

The name of Yudai Yunyou Road originated from the famous “Yudai Cloud”, which is one beautiful scenery of Cangshan Mountain. This trail is located on the hillside of Cang Mountain at an altitude of approximately 2,600 meters. From Xiaofeng Peak in the north to Shengying Peak in the south, it is 16 kilometers in length and 2.5 meters in width. It takes about 4 hours to finish trekking (not counting downhills) time

Gantong temple

erhai lake

From the map, the shape of the erhai lake resembles the human ear. This is exactly the origin of its name. In fact, it is a huge lake. It is the second largest freshwater lake in Yunnan Province and the seventh largest freshwater lake in China. Its deep blue water is impressive.
Tickets: Free admission to erhai Park, 50 RMB for Nanzhao Style Island, 12.5 RMB for Yuxi Island, 142 RMB for Longhai Cruise (including Tianjing Pavilion, Putuo, Jinsuo Island, Nanzhao Style Island, etc.)

Riding around the erhai lake

The erhai lake Ring Road has been completed across the board, with signs throughout and around 120 kilometers around the lake. Cycling around the lake generally takes two days, one night rest in Shuanglang; some high-capacity electric vehicles can complete the sea within a day.
Dali Ancient Town and Shuanglang Town can rent bikes and electric cars all over the place. The price of mountain bikes is 30 to 70 yuan per day, and electric cars are about 100 yuan. Prices may be higher during peak season. There is also the business of car rental in Dali and returning the car in different locations.

Lake Cruise

There are two routes for cruise ships, of which the longer one is called ”Erhai grand tour” and starts at 9:00 from Dali Port in xiaguan town, and arrives at caicun village in dali ancient town at 10:00, then goes to Putuo in erhai lake. Visiting Shuanglang Town’s Nanzhao Style Island and finally docked at Taoyuan Pier. Or 14:00 departure from Taoyuan dock to Shuanglang Town, Nanzhao Style Island, and then head to the end of Dali Caicun Village Pier. The total fare of the Erhai Grand Cruise is RMB 140. It includes Erhai Cruise Tickets, Erhai Resource Protection Fees, Bai Tea Song and Dance Show, Little Putuo Ferry Fee, and Nanzhao Style Island Ticket.

The shorter route is named “Erhai Eco-tourism”. Two time you can choose, 10:30 and 14:00 are opened and the boarding place is at the Caicun Village Pier in Dali. Visiting Tian Jing Ge and Nanzhao style island. The cost of the Erhai -Ecotourism is RMB 140. It includes tickets for erhai Sea Cruises, erhai Resource Protection Fees, Bai Tea Song and Dance Show, Tian Jing Ge Tickets, and Nanzhao Style Island Tickets.

Shuanglang town

The Shuanglang is the most popular ancient town in the coastal area. It is one of the best places to see the clouds in the Erhai Sea and Cang Mountain. High season reservations are required in advance.

Xizhou Ancient Town

Xizhou Bai Nationality Residence is the most well-preserved and most distinctive Bai ethnic group in Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture. Travelers interested in architectural art should not miss this place.

Huadian Dam

Jizu Mountain

 

Jizu Mountain is a famous Buddhist mountain. It integrates natural scenery and Buddhist features. It is a famous tourist destination in Dali. Backpackers who had in-depth excursions in Dali mostly praised Jizu Mountain. Jizu Mountain is named after its topography. If you look down from high altitude, this mountain is like an unfolded chicken claw.

Weishan Ancient City

Ancient Nanzhao State was founded in the ancient city of Weishan, which is now the county seat of Weishan Yi and Hui Autonomous County. These ancient buildings are exquisite in craftsmanship, shows arts of ancient Weishan ancestors. In China, it is rare to keep such a complete ancient city.

Shaxi Ancient Town

The ancient town of Shaxi is between Dali and the Old Town of Lijiang, about 8 kilometers from Shibaoshan. This is a beautiful small town with a history dating back more than 2,400 years. It is also one of the birthplaces of Yunnan bronze culture. The natives of Shaxi are dominated by the Bai people. There are still a part of Hui people. People still maintain a relatively primitive way of life. Every Friday morning, people go to the ancient town center to gather at the fair.

Shopping Street

March Street
March Street is a traditional festival for the Dali Bai people. It is a grand commodity fair held on March 15th of the Lunar New Year. It usually lasts for 5 days and is located on March Street, west of Dali Ancient Town.
Every time the holiday season comes, the Bai people will wear traditional costumes and gather to hold activities to worship Guanyin and sell their own products.
In addition to commodity trading on March Street, there are also a series of exciting performance activities such as singing, dancing, white drama, lantern show, ball games and jockey.
