Jiamusi is located on the riverside of Songhua River and has a population of 1.8 million. In addition to the Han, Mongol, Hui ethnic groups, a population of Korean, Manchu and Hezhen ethnic minorities also reside in that city.

Sanjiang International Splash Snow Festival
Every year at the end of December
During the Snow Festival, many activities including the opening ceremony will be held here. Splashing snow, ice rolling, winter swimming, ice fun games, snow football, alpine skiing invitations, ice weddings and other activities are very popular.

Best Travel season

The bitter cold of winter usually sets in around November, and spring sets in around March. The average temperature between April and October is above zero centigrade (32 Fahrenheit). June is probably the best time to visit there, and is when the Sanjiang International Tourism Festival is held.

Consumption level

The consumption level in Jiamusi City is moderate. Tickets for attractions are mostly around tens of yuan, not expensive. Most of the expenses come from accommodation and diet. During the off-season accommodation in Jiamusi, the standard room of an express hotel lasts for around 100-150 yuan a night, but in peak season the price may rise to more than 300 yuan.

Traffic in the city

Bus

Jiamusi bus lines are well developed and most of the fares are 1 yuan. However, many bus lines are closed early, and some lines are at 18:00 at the end of the line. Please pay attention when you travel.

Taxis

Jiamusi taxi starting price of 5 yuan (including 3 km), then according to different models, some 1.3 yuan per kilometer, and some 1.5 yuan per kilometer, but they need to add 1 yuan fuel surcharge.

Attractions

Wusu Town

It is the small fishing ground for salmon, and is seated along the easternmost end of China. The sun’s rays strike Wusu first in China.

Arrival method: Wusu Town has shuttles to Fuyuan and Jiji in the morning. Grab a Kyrgyzstan bus and go back and forth three times a day. When you come, you can take a bus in Honda Bridge or Fuyuan. Fuyuan – catch the shuttle bus fare 12 yuan opening hours: open all day

Heixiazi Island

It was the earliest spot where you can see the sunrise of China. Its western half is owned by China, and its eastern half is owned by Russia.

Honghe Nature Reserve

Jinjiekou

It is a compact community of the Hezhen people, located along the river in the Sino-Russia border. Here visitors learn the unique customs of the Hezhen indigenous group.

Arrival method: Jiamusi Long-distance Bus Station: 6:00-16:20, once per hour to Tongjiang

Fuyuan Port

It is located at the area where the Heilongjiang and Wusuli Rivers converge. This is the only release for the waterways of Jiamusi City and Heilongjiang Province, and allows the water to run into the sea. The port faces Russia (across the river). Further Downstream one will find the Russian cities of Komsomolsk and Nikolayev.
