Destination sketch

Meishan is 63 kilometers (39 miles) from Chengdu and about 80 kilometers (50 miles) from Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport. An administrative organization was first established in Meishan in the year 496 during the Northern and Southern Dynasties. It was known then as Meishou, but today it is well known by all Chinese as the hometown of Su Dongpo (Su Shi) and his two sons, all of whom are great poets of the Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127).

The Memorial Temple of Three Sus (San Su Ci)

It is located in the southwest section of Meishan city proper is the former residence of the three great poets in Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127). Their residence was reconstructed as a memorial temple in the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368) and was worshiped By numerous litterateurs as well as the masses.

Wawushan National Forest Park

It covers a total area of 1.04 million mu (268 square miles) in Hongya County. Wawu Mountain, the key scenic spot of the forest park, is a famous Taoist shrine. Together with Mt. Emei it is reputed to be one of the two Wonders of Sichuan dating back to the Tang (618-907) and Song (960-1279) dynasties.
Address: Hongya County, 140 kilometers away from Chengdu, 55 kilometers from Leshan, 54 kilometers away from Emei. Way of arrival: Chengdu Xinnanmen Tourist Passenger Transport Center and Chengbei Passenger Transport Center have a car to Wawushan. The Liangjiaxiang station has a bus to Hongya. After driving to the parking lot at the top of the Wawu Mountain, take an aerial cable car to visit. It takes about 30 minutes to reach.
Tickets: 50 tickets for Wawushan Mountain, 20 yuan for mountain sightseeing car, 50 yuan for cableway.

Liujiang ancient town

The ancient town of Liujiang is located on the way to the Wawushan National Forest Park, surrounded by green hills.

Han Cliff Tomb Museum

The Jiangkou Cliff Tomb Museum built on Jiangkou Cliff Tomb covers an area of more than 3,100 square meters. It is divided into three exhibition areas: one is a relic display area dominated by cliff tombs, and the other is the Ming Dynasty ancient architecture building. The historical relics display area is a sculpture hall display area with rare Han Dynasty bricks and portrait stones.

Money Tree

The most precious cultural relic in the museum is the “Money Tree”. The money tree is the mascot of the Han Dynasty. Taoism believes it is a human-to-heaven tree. This pottery copper money tree was discovered in 1972 and was 1.44 meters high. Lao e Mountain

Lao e Mountain is the sister mountain of Emei Mountain. At 1,142 meters above sea level, In the mountains, places of historic interest and scenic beauty such as Golden Summit, Sheshenya, Jiulao Cave, Wannian Temple, Fuhe Temple, and yixiantian are all with the same surname of Emei Mountain.

Arrival method: Danling County Motor Transport Company now has buses directly to the scenic area. Drive from Meishan and follow westbound line 106. Continue through Danling for about 10 kilometers to the west. Take the 106 line to the level crossing with Renmei Town and Zhangchang Town. You can see the old Lao e shan arch on the right of the 106th line.
