The area has a long history, with Mount Taishan highly-regarded in ancient times. The mountain was considered to be the first of the countries five sacred mountains, and was a place where emperors prayed for the fortunes of the nation. Mount Taishan was also a focal point for religion in the area, providing a base for the likes of Buddhism and Taoism.
Tai’an weather is subject to a temperate monsoon climate and has four distinct seasons: spring tends to be windy and dry; summer is hot and rainy; fall is very cool; and winter is cold, though snowfall is limited.
Tai’an and Taishan are relatively famous tourist areas, and the expenses may be relatively high. The main expenses come from scenic spots, transportation and accommodation, especially in many scenic spots. Tickets are all over 100 yuan.

There is no airport in Tai’an, about 90 kilometers from Jinan International Airport. Visitors must transit in Jinan.
Tai’an is the intersection of Beijing-Shanghai Railway, Xintai Railway and Taifei Railway, so it is very convenient to take the train to this place. However, if you come to Tai’anto play, you must buy a return ticket in advance, because the tickets here are often very tight.
The Beijing-Shanghai Expressway and the Beijing-Fuzhou (Beijing-Fuzhou) Expressway are in the Tai’an Fair, and the 104 National Highway and the Tailai Highway constitute a transportation network extending in all directions. Those who travel to Tai’an by car must consider that mountaineering fatigue may affect driving safety and must be done with force. Taishan long-distance bus station is near the Taishan Mountain Scenic Area, and there is a storage business at the station.

The leader of the ‘Five Sacred Mountains’, Mt. Tai is located in the center of Shandong Province, lying across the cities of Tai’an, Jinan and Zibo. Its main peak, Jade Emperor Summit, which is within Tai’an City, is about 1532.7 meters (5,029 feet) high.
The mountain was once called Mt. Daishan, Mt. Daizong or Mt. Taiyue and was renamed Mt. Taishan in the Spring and Autumn Period (770BC-476BC). It epitomizes splendid Chinese culture and was listed in the World Natural and Cultural Heritage List of UNESCO in 1987.
This route is considered to be the ImperialThe steep stairs, Mount Taishan Route because the emperors all took this way to make sacrifices. With elegant natural scenery, palaces, stone inscriptions are also scattered along the winding path. You set off from Dai Temple, and then you will see Dai Zong Archway, Red Gate Palace, Jing Shi Valley, Hu Tian Pavilion and Eighteen Bends, etc. Dai Temple is the place where emperors stayed and offered their sacrifices. The temple was built in the Han Dynasty and expanded in the Tang and Song Dynasties. After several renovations, it has become the biggest and most complete temple on the mountain.
There are 6000-plus steps along this route and it takes about four hours at an average to reach the peak. This classical route is an ideal choice for most people.
The west route is made up of two parts. The first part is the highroad from the Heaven and Earth Square to Mid-heaven Gate. The other part is the cable way from Mid-heaven Gate to the top of the mountain. This route is well equipped with modern facilities and is the most fashionable way to reach Jade Emperor Summit. Attractions concentrated on this route are Heaven and Earth Square, Black Dragon Pool, Tomb of General Feng Yuxiang and Longevity Bridge, etc.

Culaishan National Forest Park is situated southeast of Mount Taishan, about 20 kilometers (12.4 miles) southeast of Tai’an city proper. With an area of 250 square kilometers (61,776 acres), the park is a good scenic area for sightseeing and spending vacations. Similar to Mount Taishan, Culai Mountain is rich in cultural relics and natural scenery, so they are called ‘Sister Mountains’.
Culai Mountain is as beautiful as a painting. Its highest peak, Taiping Peak rises over 1,027 meters (3,369 feet) above sea level. The ridges and peaks rise up and down in the park; deep and quiet ravines are scattered over the mountain; streams wind around; rocks differ from each other in shapes and sizes. The mountain is covered by a sea of ancient pines, cypresses, gingkoes and wisteria, some of which are thousands of years old. There are a variety of plants, herbs, birds and animals.

It is a name given by archaeologists to a group of Neolithic communities who lived primarily in Shandong, but also appeared in Anhui, Henan and Jiangsu, China. The culture existed from 4100 to 2600 BC, co-existing with the Yangshao culture. Turquoise, jade and ivory artefacts are commonly found at Dawenkou sites. The earliest examples of alligator drums appear at Dawenkou sites. Neolithic signs, perhaps related to subsequent scripts, such as those of the Shang Dynasty, have been found on Dawenkou pottery.

Feicheng City is the Holy Land of peach flowers and is known as the “Hometown of Chinese Buddha Peach”. The peach orchards cover an area of 66,700 hectares (about 16.5 thousand acres), which is the largest peach garden in the world according to the Guinness Books of Records. The peach orchards of Feicheng City are mainly in Yiyang Town and Taoyuan Town. In spring, the peach trees are in full bloom to compete in beauty and fascination. The peach flowers may be dazzlingly rosy or they may be white, pink, tipped faintly or in darker colors, presenting a colorful view of great charm. In autumn, the peach orchard is full of rich fruits and the smell of ripe peaches.
