Xianyang is an ancient capital. The first feudal dynasty in Chinese history, the Qin Dynasty, made it the capital city and planted the seeds of its impressive history. Historically, it once served as the capital for thirteen dynasties, leaving a legacy of twenty-seven tombs of emperors and hundreds of graves of imperial household members.
It is the representative folk Chinese opera of the northwest Province of Shaanxi, China,[1] where it was called Qin thousands of years ago. Its melodies originated from rural areas of ancient Shaanxi and Gansu.[2] The word itself means “the tune or sound of Qin.”
It is a folk music style from Shaanxi province. The name literally means rambling in the sky. The style was originally sung and developed by porters carrying goods to far off regions. One of the most famous songs in this style is lan hua hua.
The area has a warm temperate continental monsoon climate which features a chilly winter and torrid summer. Overcast and rainy days are most frequent in summer and autumn. Extreme heat may sear the city in summer causing high temperature of Xianyang weather in excess of 40C (104F). Visitors can choose any time to visit the place. However, avoiding the height of summer and the middle of winter is recommended.
Traveling in Xianyang, the area is around Xi’an, the budget is 200 to 350 yuan per day.

The Tang Dynasty (618-907) is a truly fascinating period of Chinese history, not only for its high culture but also the personalities that left their mark on the epoch. It is not surprising that they should have had impressive burials and that in view of her powerful and dominating character that the Empress should have shared her late husband’s tomb. This is the only instance of a mausoleum shared in this way and of course, Wu Zetian was the only woman to have ruled China.
