As an outstanding representative of the traditional Chinese culture “Fangyuan” thought, the architectural style of the Tulou architecture in Fujian is the best example of China’s bauxite technology.

In Nanjing, the hometown of Fujian Tulou, there are as many as 15,000 large and small earth buildings. This architectural model, which absorbs the traditional building feng shui concept, is very suitable for ethnic life. Tianluokeng Earth Towers Cluster

Tianluokeng earth building cluster is one of the better known Fujian Tulou, about four hours’ drive from city Xiamen. It consists of a square earth building in the center, surrounded by four round earth buildings. These earth buildings have only one entrance, guarded by 4–5-inch-thick wooden doors re-enforced with an outer shell of iron plate.
It is three storeys high, each storey has 26 rooms, four sets of stairs, and a go around The square Buyunlou (Reaching the Cloud building) at the center of the quincunx. It was the first tulou at this site, built in 1796. The corridor in front of the rooms at each level. The Buyun building was burnt down by bandits in 1936, rebuilt in 1953 according to the original plan.

Yuchang Earth Tower

Yuchang Earth Building is double-ring five-line structure built in the middle of the Yuan Dynasty (1308-1338) by five clans, the Liu, Luo, Zhang, Tang and Fan. There are 270 rooms in the 18 meter high building, And there are still 21 families living inside.

Yuchanglou has been nicknamed the “zigzag building”, because the vertical wooden post structure is not straight and perpendicular, but zigzags left and right (some even at 15 degree angle). It was built that way due to an error measuring the building materials. But in spite of this apparent infirmity, this tall tulou withstood 700 years of natural elements and social turmoil. Yuchanglou’s outer ring is 36 m in diameter and boasts five storeys, with 50 rooms on each floor.

Each of the 25 kitchens on the ground floor at the back half of the circle has a private water well beside its stove. This is the only tulou in all Fujian with such convenient water supply.

There was a one storey inner-ring house surrounding the ancestral hall as late as 2003. This part of the building stood nearly 700 years outstanding until, unfortunately, it was dismantled after 2003.

Yunshuiyao Ancient Town

The reason why Yunshuiyao has attracted so many tourists is because of its tranquil and peaceful ambience of Old time Chinese village. The Binhai Volcano National Geological Park

The scenic area is a typical tertiary volcanic geographic park, which covers 100 square kilometers. The well preserved remaining crater of Niutou Mountain has an entire eruption vestige and clear structure. The volcano fumaroles group in Linjin Island are rarely seen anywhere in the world. Column-shaped basalts on Nanding Island and scale-like stone pits are majestic and spectacular. There are about 1,400,000 huge peristeles on the Nanding Island, lying on the cliffs of the island at 20 to 50 meters high. They look like a row of black Thread drooping over the sea water, making you feel too many good things to be fully appreciated all at once.

Nanshan Temple

It is a Buddhist temple located in the foothills of Mount Danxia to the south of Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province, People’s Republic of China. It is one of the most important Chinese Buddhism temples on the Chinese mainland.

Memorial Archways in the Ming and Qing Dynasties

Four memorial archways are now accessible in Zhangzhou.
