Destination sketch

Located south to the mouth of the Yangtze River, Zhoushan is in the coastal area of eastern Zhejiang in the fringe of Hangzhou Bay. It is the only city established on the basis of a group of islands, the Zhoushan Archipelago. The city backed on the Yangtze River Delta megalopolis is an important pass to the opening up of the Yangtze River Basin and the delta area. Floating on the East China Sea, the area is listed in the World’s four largest fishing grounds.

Mount Putuo

Mount Putuo lies to the east of Zhoushan City. Zhoushan City is situated on Zhoushan Island that in turn gives its name to a group of some four hundred small islands off the east coast of China in Zhejiang Province. These islands are in fact the peaks of Submerged mountains and so rise rapidlyly the the sea. The Putuo Mountain dominates the small rhomboidal land mass with its total area of about 12.5 square kilometers (4.8 square miles). Zhujiajian

Zhoushan Zhujiajian Daqingshan National Forest Park

Daqingshan National Park is the core scenic spot of the AAAA-level scenic spot of Zhujiajian, a national key scenic spot in Putuoshan. Nansha

Nansha is located in the center of the Shili Jinsha Scenic Area. The famous Zhoushan International Sand Sculpture Festival is held here. Nansha is located between Jinsha and Qiansha, from Tianhou Temple in the north to Muling in the south, with a length of more than 1,000 meters and a width of about 250 meters.

Shengsi island

Located in the northern part of the Zhoushan Archipelago, Sijiaoshan is the main island of the Chengsi islands. It faces the sea in the east, and is opposite to Putuo Mountain, a Buddhist holy land, and Shanghai Jinshanwei in the west. Shanghai is the closest city to Chengsi island. The first sea-crossing bridge in China, the East China Sea Bridge, started from Luchaogang in Pudong New Area of Shanghai, crossed the northern waters of Hangzhou Bay in the south, and reached Xiaoyangshan Island in Qixian County, Zhejiang Province.

Jihu Beach

Dongji Islands
