Tibet Motorcycle Tour from Lhasa to Everest Base Camp

Day 1 Arrival in Lhasa (D)

Warm welcome by local guide.
You will have a short health test to confirm that you are able to drive a car safely.
Applying Chinese riding license at traffic police station with your passport, original riding license and health examination table.

Some people may have altitude sickness today, it’s normal. Drink more water, pee more. Walk slowly, don’t jump!

Day 2 Lhasa (B, L, D)

The traffic police office will take one day to prepare your new temporary Chinese riding license, so you could have a leisure day in Lhasa. Hanging out and exploring the city by yourself. Bakhor may be a good place to visit local people’s life, drinking Tibetan sweet tea there and join the pilgrim team of local Tibetan people.

Day 3 Lhasa (B, L, D)

After breakfast take a tour of Lhasa visiting Jokhang temple and Potala palace
Located midway along Octagonal Street, Jokhang Temple (the name means “assembly place” in Tibetan) is where lamas gather to lecture on Lamaist doctrines in the first month of the lunar calendar each year. With its round golden roof and two golden goats holding glittering wheels at the top of the main gate, the four-story hall is a magnificent sight.

Day 4 Lhasa (B, L, D)

After breakfast sightseeing of Lhasa.Drepung monastery , Sera monastery and Norbulinkha park.
Deprung monastery is the largest-scale monastery among the ones of the same kind. Seen from afar, its grand, white construction gives the appearance of a heap of rice. As such, it was given the name ‘Drepung’, which, in the Tibetan language, means ‘Collecting Rice’.

Day 5: Lhasa (3650m) to Shigatse (3900m,6hrs) (B, L, D)

After breakfast in your hotel ride to Shigatse which is the 2nd largest city of Tibet. On the way pay a visit to Gyantse (3977m) and visit Kumbum Stupa.

Day 6: Shigatse-Sakya- Lhaze – Tingri (200km, 4 hrs driving ) (B, L, D)

Heading to Tingri today, last stop before the Everest, visit Sakya moanstery in Sakya county.
Sakya Monastery is the center of the Sakya Sect. In Tibetan, the word Sagya means “gray soil” referring to the weathered gray earth on the Bonbori Hill where the monastery is located. This name later referred to the place then to the Sagya Sect of Tibetan Buddhism.
Overnight: Qomulangma hotel

Day 7: Tingri – Rongbuk Monastery- Tingri (4,348m, 8 hours) (B, L, D)

Ride to Rongbuk Monastery situated below the northern face of Mt. Everest. Contionue the road to Old Tingri after the visit.

Overnight: Qomulangma hotel

Day 8 Old Tingri – Shigatse (290km, 4.5 hrs riding, ) (B, L, D)

Ride back to Shigatse, and visit Tashilhunpo monastery in the afternoon. It is largest monastery of the Gelug Sect in Rear Tibet, and the main stage where generations of Panchen Lamas carried out religious and political activities.

Day 9 Shigatse – Gyantse – Lhasa (B, L, D)

Visit YamdrokTso and Khari Glacier, and ride back to Lhasa

Day 10 Lhasa Exit (B)

After breakfast transfer to airport / railway station for your onward journey.
